Das ehemalige
Benediktiner-Kloster
Comburg
liegt auf einem Umlaufberg des Kocher.
Es hatte wenig Eigenbesitz und
konnte so kein eigenes Territorium erwerben.
Die Klosteranlage hat heute
Bauten aus der Zeitz vom 11. bis zum 18. Jahrhundert,
lediglich wenige
Gebäude aus dem 19. Jahrhundert wurden abgerissen.
Die Stiftskirche hat
noch zwei romanische Türme, der Chor hingegen stammt aus dem
18.
Jahrhundert. Bemerkenswert ist der Radleuchter in der Kirche, der aus
der Zeit
um 1130 stammt. Die Gesamtanlage des Kloster wird heute von
einer Mauer aus dem
16. Jahrhundert umgeben und machte einen burgartigen
Eindruck.

The former
Benedictine Abbey
Comburg is situated on
a
Meander cutoff of the
Kocher river. It had
few proprietary possessions and
could not acquire its own territory.
Today the abbey has buildings from the 11th
to the 18th century. In the
past only a few 19th century buildings were torn down.
The abbey church has two Romanesque towers. The choir dates from
the 18th century.
Remarkable is the candleholder
dating from 1130. The entire compound is surrounded
by a wall from the
16th century and gives an impression of a fortified castle. |
